Head on over to Wife of a Sailor to link up!!
1. It's now June (Woot!)... what plans do you have for the summer?
Well, the hubs comes home very soon!!!!! So we have a few weddings to go to, and we are taking a cruise in the next few weeks! I'm very excited about that! Also, we have some yardwork to catch up on and I am working on a huge quilt for our bed.
2. What is your favorite summer memory as a kid?
My family used to take a trip every single year to Daytona Beach. We stayed in the same condo, went to the same putt-putt courses, ate at the same restaurants, and every night would go to the same ice cream shop. I love the tradition, and I think about it every summer.
3. If wild animals could be made pets without fear of them ever being dangerous, what kind of exotic animal would you want as a pet?
Definitely a tiger!! (Gotta give a shout-out to my college team - GO AUBURN!)
4. Is there anything about deployments that you DO like? submitted by The Thrifty Military Wife
Actually, yes. I like having complete control over the remote, having the full expanse of the bed, and most of all, not having to buy our compromise of 1% milk. I love 2% but BE likes skim, so we have to compromise... but when he's not home, MY milk reigns supreme!!! lol
5. I'm running out of questions... give me one you would like to see!
What is the one special thing that you do for yourself to get you through the first week of a deployment/separation? Something that you either do every day or a series of things you do, that relax you or help you shoot through that first hard week. :)
Those are great questions - definitely didn't think of those this morning!!!
ReplyDeleteIn June I am going to work on Sat. next week, which I usually don't do. I am going to chase hot air balloons on a Sat. a.m. at a hot air balloon festival. That means I have to get up earlier than normal, like 3:30 a.m. to get there and find out what's going on and hope there's enough wind to take them in a good direction. Also go to the Oregon Christian Convention for at least 2 days. My family used to go in the evening and weekends since we farmed so we couldn't go all day. Tabernacle is 120 years old. WOW! If the walls could talk!
ReplyDeleteMy hubby never went on deployments, except for one when we were dating. I helped him roll up his sox when he was doing his laundry. Missed him the week he was gone. Ok, have a great weekend!
