Frustration, & Link-Ups

So I am SUPER FRUSTRATED because I paid for a blog design from another blogger's web page, and first of all it annoyed me that I had to pay before any questionnaires were even completed about my blog, and second it really annoys me because now after I've filled out the entire stinking questionnaire, it doesn't even load and go on to the next page... so in essence I just paid for a template that won't process and I won't ever receive. That makes me super mad. So now I don't even know what to do - do I dispute it with Paypal (and does that ever even really work?) or am I just out all this money?? Ugh. What a day.

Anyway, here go my two link-ups for the day, first off it's What's Your Song? from Goodnight Moon, and then it's the Thursday Five from Flip Flops and Combat Boots. Go link up!!

My song for this week is Tik Tok... not because the song is any good at all, but because this video that some guys at the Air Force Academy made for it is HILARIOUS!!! I've had a really bad week, so I needed something to cheer me up and here it is! Hope it cheers you too ;)

and now on to the Thursday Five! This week's words are:
Fabulous
Satisfying
Amazing
Sweet
Jubilant

This week I have realized that I have a Fabulous group of friends. Seriously, with all this craziness with my body going on right now and the fears surrounding infertility constantly in my mind, it's been really great to just be able to call and cry to people I know love me.

Having a clean house is really Satisfying right now!! Especially with the holiday fast approaching us, I'm glad that the house is in order and beautiful and I will actually be able to enjoy it without dirty laundry and unmade beds on my mind lol!

It is Amazing how my husband always comes through when I'm not having a good day. We definitely have our moments (and days), but he has been a real comfort the past few days the crazier this process with the hospital has gone and the more that comes up. Thank you, BE!!!!

I got such a Sweet note today from one of my dearest friends. It's always fun to get mail, but this was such a heartfelt card that it really touched me. Definitely made my day!

I am Jubilant that my husband's wisdom teeth removal went so well!! I really hope he heals quickly so he can get back to eating "real food". I know I'll be glad to cook something other than jello, mashed potatoes, and pudding!

Back at Home Port - Back From The Cruise!

Well, we are back from the-cruise-that-almost-didn't-happen-thanks-again-to-the-Air-Force. It was SOOOOOO much fun I can't even begin to describe! We went on a cruise to the Bahamas for our honeymoon back in December... and it sucked. We had terrible weather, were told to stay off of the decks because of 66+ mph winds, BE was sick the whole time, and they even cancelled our ports because waves were so high we couldn't dock. So this was our chance to have an "actual" cruise honeymoon, and it was so amazing! We had glorious weather, got to do all of our fun excursions in the ports, decided we are going to retire on Grand Cayman (when we become millionaires, don't ya know), and overall just had a really great time! So here are a few pictures from our trip! We even had the pleasure of meeting the Cunningham family - Mr. Cunningham is a WWII vet who was in the Army Air Corps when it became the Air Force (how cool is that?!?!) so we ended up talking to their family the majority of the cruise. Anyway, here is our week in pictures :)

Back from our cruise! Friday Fill-In

Head on over to Wife of a Sailor to link up your Friday questions too!! You can find the list on her page!

1. Are you a different person than you were five years ago? Submitted by Sisterly Thoughts
Definitely. In the past five years, I have gotten out of an abusive relationship, made it through nursing school and become the first girl on either side of my family to graduate college, met and married the love of my life, moved into our first house, and started our military journey. So yeah, I'd say I've changed quite a bit!!

2. If you could go on Amazing Race, who would you take with you as your partner and why? Submitted by Thoughts from Poekitten
Actually, I would probably take my little brother. He's not scared of much of anything and is super athletic (so he could carry that huge pack for me lol). I would have said BE, but we would almost certainly kill each other in the process lol. The baby brother, however, would love to travel with me and would probably be up for all those crazy challenges!

3. Does Facebook or Twitter actually bring more stress or good in to your life? Submitted by Just An Arizona Girl
Well, the only reason I have a Twitter is for the blog... Facebook however is my bread and butter. It has caused some issues before when people haven't understood my posts or taken them wrong, but at the end of the day, I love it still. Not every day of a person's life is rainbows and butterflies, and I tend to get criticized anytime I post anything that isn't "My life rocks!!!" but hey, I'm a real person, and I generally use Facebook to keep in touch with my real-person high school and college buddies that I'm now parted from.

4. June is National Soul Food Month - what's your soul food? Submitted by NH Girl Displaced
Macaroni and cheese!!!!!! But only if it's made with milk and Velveeta cheese mmmmmm :)

5. If you could live in any era other than the current, which one would it be and why? Submitted by Sugar In My Grits
Hmm... I would probably live in the 40's or 50's. Mostly because I love the music. I could listen to Sinatra allllllll day. I think people were prettier back then too lol.

Well, that's all for the link-up for this week, but I'm going to post another entry shortly about our fun cruise that BE and I just got back from!!! We did all sorts of cool things, so make sure you stop back by!

Thursday Five and Song Link-Up

So here go my two link-ups for Thursdays - head on over first to Flip Flops and Combat Boots to link up your Thursday 5! This week's words are...
Happy
Giddy
Joyful
Excited
Appreciative

I am happy that my DH is FINALLY home!!! Mostly because the grass needed cut ;) (j/k of course!). He got to come home a few days earlier than I was expecting him to, so it's been a good week.

The thought of our cruise actually working out (thanks to someone finally being willing to help BE sort out his leave situation) makes me absolutely giddy!! We really need this trip and he had a lot of very special sweet things planned for our ports of call, so I'm glad it worked out.

Hearing the amazing scores my hubby got on his checkride at IFS has made me feel so joyful. I am glad he did so well there so that he can gain some confidence before starting nav classes here soon. Apparently not a whole ton of people without previous flight hours get "excellents" on their score sheets, but BE got quite a few!! I am so proud of him!

I am SUPER excited about our bbq we are hosting tomorrow at our house!!! There are a few new families here in Pensacola and we have such a great group I am glad we get to meet some new friends and surround them with a support system that they can call upon while they are here, as well as expand our little circle!

Lastly, I am appreciative of my husband this week. I have been having some "girl issues" lately, and finally got into the doctor today, just to find out that it is either my body going all kinds of crazy adjusting to being off of birth control, or most likely an early stage miscarriage. But BE has been so understanding and loving and supportive that it has really helped me deal with all the uncertainties that still are looming around the issue. The women in my family chronically have difficulty in this area, so I have really been leaning on BE here lately, and he continues to come through. It's a blessing!

And now over to the What's YOUR Song? Link-up from over at Goodnight Moon's Page!! This week, I am posting a beautiful song that BE and I love. I think it really symbolizes the concept of a Christian marriage, and it's definitely how I feel lately with us "dancing in the minefields" and "sailing through the storms". My favorite line is the one where he says, "We bear the light of the Son of Man, so there's nothing left to fear/So I'll walk with you in the shadowland, til the shadows disappear/Cause He promised us forever, and His promises are true/So in the midst of all this chaos, baby, I can dance with you"... it tells us that because a higher power is taking care of all of the unknowns, we can love each other and enjoy our time here on Earth. Very powerful song :) Enjoy!

It's Really Real Now!!

So today I registered to take my NCLEX-RN exam to become registered as a nurse for the state of Florida!! It will be a few months before I actually test, but I'm already feeling the nerves. This test is ridiculously expensive to take, so I'd rather not suffer through it twice (especially since the closest testing center is hours away). Plus, I know the hubs is really looking forward to me working (even though I have been an AWESOME housewife the past few months lol). A.K.A. I have WAY too much time on my hands lol. Here are pictures of two of the things I made for BE's homecoming the other night:

and yeah, that's homemade fondant. The cake recipe was all in ounces too, so I had to use a scale. It was super yummy though (gotta love almond extract!!). Then I looked up getting him an Edible Arrangement, but they want over $50 for a patriotic one... well I made mine for about $15. Thrifty, right?

Buster eagerly awaited BE's homecoming all day...
and that night finally got rewarded for all of his pining!! lol. The minute we stepped out of the car when we got home from the airport we could hear him whining from behind the door!
We had a super lazy day yesterday, and plan on doing the same tonight. I think Taco Night and Rock Band with some friends are on the agenda. We had a scare about our cruise the other day when they called BE and told him they had moved him up a class date AGAIN (so much for them telling him they had taken care of it a month ago when they told us his leave was approved) and after much work, he was able to get someone to help him and we are good to go again (HUGE sigh of relief!!) so we are looking forward to that. Our base is also hosting a free Craig Morgan concert this coming week and we are super excited about that because we LOVE our country!!!

Also, not to brag or anything, but BE did AMAZING at IFS!! His check ride he got all good's and a lot of excellent's (which is pretty rare for people who come in without private pilot licenses!) so I am super proud of him for how much work he put into it and how successful he was! Now on to the next thing (which I'm sure he will do amazing at as well!)

Milspouse Friday Fill-In!

Head on over to Wife of a Sailor to link up!!
1. It's now June (Woot!)... what plans do you have for the summer?
Well, the hubs comes home very soon!!!!! So we have a few weddings to go to, and we are taking a cruise in the next few weeks! I'm very excited about that! Also, we have some yardwork to catch up on and I am working on a huge quilt for our bed.

2. What is your favorite summer memory as a kid?
My family used to take a trip every single year to Daytona Beach. We stayed in the same condo, went to the same putt-putt courses, ate at the same restaurants, and every night would go to the same ice cream shop. I love the tradition, and I think about it every summer.

3. If wild animals could be made pets without fear of them ever being dangerous, what kind of exotic animal would you want as a pet?
Definitely a tiger!! (Gotta give a shout-out to my college team - GO AUBURN!)

4. Is there anything about deployments that you DO like? submitted by The Thrifty Military Wife
Actually, yes. I like having complete control over the remote, having the full expanse of the bed, and most of all, not having to buy our compromise of 1% milk. I love 2% but BE likes skim, so we have to compromise... but when he's not home, MY milk reigns supreme!!! lol

5. I'm running out of questions... give me one you would like to see!
What is the one special thing that you do for yourself to get you through the first week of a deployment/separation? Something that you either do every day or a series of things you do, that relax you or help you shoot through that first hard week. :)

What's YOUR Song??

This week my song is by one of my favorite groups, Lady Antebellum, in conjunction with another one of my favorite groups (as of recently), Parachute. Hope you enjoy :) If you are stopping by my blog, please comment that you are a new follower and I will gladly follow you in return!! Head over to Goodnight Moon's Page to link up your song!

Thursday Five

Head on over to Flip Flops and Combat Boots to link up your five for this week!!!

I love where I live! Almost every day I get woken up (sometimes quite rudely) by the sound of F-18 Hornet engines as the Blue Angels pass so close over the top of my house I can read every letter written on their undersides! It really is fascinating to see all that beautiful power so close to me, and know that people travel to see them perform, when I only have to look out my window.

Tomorrow is going to be wonderfully pleasant, as I get to attend a spouse's coffee on base in the morning, and then my milwives small group at church in the evening. I love the people I have met here so much!!

Had a sweet treat tonight after my butt-busting spin class... go to my other blog to get the super easy recipe!

I have started a workout routine (which I haven't done since high school) that I am trying really hard to stick to. Even though I'm thin, I'm really not healthy, and my thighs are massive lol. So I have tried a few classes and run five days a week. Tonight I looked in the mirror after my cool-off shower, and I could see the muscles in my calves and thighs for the first time!!! I felt sensational!

I was at a friend's wedding last weekend, and I sent him a message that I really wish he had been able to come with me to it, and I hoped being married to me these past six months has made him happy, and he responded "You are what makes me happy! I do enjoy getting to serve, but it isn't nearly as much as I love you." It was the most heartwarming thing, and I definitely teared up! Love that man :)

Thoughts From The Hubs

Sometimes the things my husband says give me the best chuckle, and tonight was one of them. He sent me this picture of him with his plane out at IFS:

to which a friend of his commented (referring to Top Gun) "Do you have the need??" (If you've seen the movie, you would know that after that, Goose replies, "The need for speed!!"). Well, my husband replies, "There's not much speed in this one. She's only got 125 HP, and our max airspeed is 164 knots, or about 190 mph. It's hard to buzz the tower at Mach 0.15." LOL.
and here are the rest of the guys in his flight!! I teased him that they have the sorority pose down perfectly.

On another happy note, here is a picture from our romantic dinner celebrating our 6 month wedding anniversary (which we celebrated early before BE left) at a great little spot here in Pensacola called the Fish House. I can't say enough good things about the food!
I was so happy he wore his yellow shirt! We met online, and when I was flipping through his pictures I wasn't really stopping to look very long until I saw a picture of him in this yellow shirt. That was the moment that I stopped and decided that I thought he was super cute and I just couldn't resist, and I finally responded to the message he had sent me a few days earlier. So in all technicalities, that yellow shirt started all this! Here is the original picture, so you can see how we've changed lol
Such a stud! We are very excited that we are going to be heading out on our cruise here in the next few weeks!! We actually won it on our honeymoon cruise that my parents sent us on since we had such a tiny wedding. We took a 5 dollar bill into the casino to gamble with (high rollers, I know), I turned it into $20, and we walked out. Well, that night we got invited to the past guest reception since I had cruised with Carnival before. (we really only went because there were free drinks lol) but while we were there they ran a deal just for past cruisers on the raffle that they had been running all week to win another free Carnival cruise. Well, usually you only get 10 tickets for $20, but that night you got double tickets, so I went up and just for kicks and giggles put our $20 into the pot and got 20 tickets. The last day of the cruise they had this little boy come up on stage and pull out a ticket, and it was one of ours!!!!!!!!!! I thought BE was going to pass out. So anyway, we decided to take it when he came home from IFS, so now I'm gearing up! We picked our excursions today, and we will be....

riding horses on the beach (which BE picked out all himself and surprised me with, because I have ridden horses my whole life but never gotten the chance to ride on the beach!) and...
swimming with dolphins!!!! I am so excited about this trip! The fact that 5 of our first 6 months of marriage have been spent apart has really put some stress on our relationship, so I'm very excited to have a week of relaxation and fun and JUST US! Hope everyone has had a fabulous Wednesday :)
